When Sandiaga Gives Motivation to Mother-Daughter UMKM Players in Surabaya

During his visit on this holiday, Sandi said this was his appreciation for MSMEs who remained resilient working on holidays.
"In Jakarta I used to call Street Vendors (PKLs) become Independent Creative Traders (PKM). When big entrepreneurs are still sleeping, they are still on holiday but traditional entrepreneurs, small entrepreneurs, market traders have started. 24 hours they become the backbone of the family, "Sandi said during a dialogue with MSMEs in Urip Sumoharjo Foodcourt, Surabaya, on Tuesday.
On the same occasion, Sandi assessed that Indonesia was experiencing economic development difficulties. This is because the government is too busy building infrastructure to burden the country's debt. Sandi suggested the government should focus more on creating people's welfare by providing employment. For example by increasing MSMEs which are considered to have an influence of 60% on the Indonesian economy.
"The government is only focused on building infrastructure. It should be able to build its people and ensure the welfare of the community. It can build infrastructure, but don't burden the country's debt," Sandi said.
In addition, Sandi also mentions East Java with a large level of economic growth. He said that economic growth in East Java which is 5.4% makes it the locomotive of the Indonesian economy.
"I went down here. I hope this can be a step to change our orientation, not just building big ones and not just building physically but also building people," he said. Sandi emphasized that he was ready to bring change and provide solutions for the Indonesian economy. Sandi said that he was committed to improving people's welfare, one of which was by making prices more stable and affordable.
"The hope is that in this new year the MSMEs will improve, the country's debt will decrease, many entrepreneurs will succeed. God willing, if we are allowed, we will provide solutions for the economy in Indonesia," concluded Sandi.
